OuiSip’s Home Brewing Guide

Welcome to your go-to guide for brewing great coffee at home. At OuiSip, we love helping you get the best out of every bean — whether you’re pulling a rich espresso or making an easy pour-over for a slow morning.

Espresso

What you’ll need: Espresso machine, fresh OuiSip coffee, tamper, scale.

  • Dose: 18–20 grams coffee (double shot)
  • Yield: 36–40 grams espresso
  • Ratio: 1:2 coffee to liquid

How to brew:

  1. Grind fine, like table salt.
  2. Dose 18–20 grams into the portafilter.
  3. Tamp firmly and evenly.
  4. Pull your shot — aim for a 25–30 second extraction.
  5. Enjoy straight or make your favorite drink.

Tip: Always grind just before brewing for the best flavor.

 Moka Pot

What you’ll need: Moka pot, OuiSip coffee, stovetop.

  • Coffee: 15–18 grams
  • Water: Fill the bottom chamber up to the safety valve.

How to brew:

  1. Fill the bottom with hot water to the valve.
  2. Add medium-fine ground OuiSip coffee to the filter basket (don’t tamp).
  3. Assemble and place on medium heat.
  4. Once you hear the gurgle, remove from heat.
  5. Stir and serve immediately.

Tip: Preheat the water to avoid burnt flavors.

French Press

What you’ll need: French press, OuiSip coffee, kettle.

  • Ratio: 1:15 coffee to water (e.g. 30 grams coffee to 450 ml water)

How to brew:

  1. Add coarse ground OuiSip coffee to your press.
  2. Pour hot water (about 200°F / 93°C) evenly.
  3. Stir gently.
  4. Put the lid on and steep for 4 minutes.
  5. Press slowly, pour, and enjoy.

Tip: Pour it out right away to keep your cup smooth.

Pour-Over

What you’ll need: Pour-over dripper (like a V60 or Chemex), OuiSip coffee, paper filter, kettle.

  • Ratio: 1:16 coffee to water (e.g. 25 grams coffee to 400 ml water)

How to brew:

  1. Rinse your filter with hot water (then discard the rinse water).
  2. Add medium ground OuiSip coffee.
  3. Pour a little water to bloom (wait 30–45 seconds).
  4. Slowly pour the rest in circles over 2–3 minutes.
  5. Let it drain and enjoy.

Tip: Pour slow and steady for the best clarity and flavor.
